The goal of this course is to thoroughly familiarize radiologic technologists and other healthcare professionals with infection control, handling and exposure of hazardous material, and contrast media as it relates to patient care in radiography. The course begins by discussing infection control and the cycle of infection. Next, asepsis, Standard Precautions, Transmission Based Precautions and the handling and disposal of hazardous material is reviewed. Pharmacology as it relates to patient history, lab values, medicinal and contrast administration, and venipuncture is covered. The course concludes with an in depth discussion about contrast media, both enteral and injected. The majority of the modules within this course are text with images. One module contains an audio interview.
